CHICAGO, IL - A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital following a hit-and-run crash in the Gold Coast neighborhood on Monday night.
According to WLS, the victim was crossing in the 100 block of East Chestnut Street near North Michigan Avenue at 6:40 p.m. when he was hit by an oncoming sedan. The driver then continued down the roadway, striking a number of unoccupied vehicles.
The pedestrian, an unidentified 40-year-old man, was rushed to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with critical, potentially life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the sedan, who remains unidentified, has been apprehended and taken into custody. The specific charges she will potentially face are currently unclear and under investigation.
