CHICAGO, IL - A single-vehicle crash on Chicago's South Side claimed the lives of two people late Saturday night. 

According to WSL, officers responded to the 400 block of West 87th Street, which is just east of Eggleston Avenue shortly after 11 p.m.

Investigators believe a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and struck a utility pole. 

Both occupants, a man and a woman, died at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending further investigation.
