CHICAGO, IL - A teen was fatally struck by a vehicle in West Chicago on Wednesday evening.
According to a report by WLS, the victim, a 16-year-old from Aurora, was walking in the area of Hawthorne Lane and Wild Ginger Trail when he was hit at about 6 p.m.
The teen sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver involved in the crash fled the scene before authorities arrived. In their ongoing investigation, police executed a search warrant on Wednesday and are currently speaking with an individual who may have information regarding the incident and could be a person of interest.
