CHICAGO, IL - Police have charged the driver responsable for a suspected DUI crash involving a CTA bus what left one person dead and 15 others injured on Sunday.
According to CBS News, 29-year-old Dontrell Biggs was behind the wheel of a Dodge Journey heading south in the northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Drive when it slammed into the bus near the 45th Street intersection.
Briggs' passenger, 37-year-old Charice Rush, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. Briggs and another passenger were hospitalized in serious condition.
The 13 occupants of the bus were also taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Biggs faces a number of charges, including felony counts of reckless homicide and aggravated DUI, as well as misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, DUI, driving without insurance, and driving in the wrong direction.
